AHHHHH! another mf thread

I finally found a good source to an mf chart. it shows why after around 400 mf it doesnt make much of a difference unless your aiming for all magic (not rare,unique and set though they will be in there) items. look on:

So what that is saying is that around 200% is ideal? Higher if you want those +skill rare ammy's? I'm rather curious how they based this chart or where they got their information from.

People who mf, on average tell me that 300-380 % is ideal, if nmot very good for finding rares/sets/uniques, etc. And from my personal experience this is so. My sorceress has 375%, and she finds rares, and uniques quite often off of normal monsters. Bosses give even better, not all the time of course, but just more then I would expect by using higher MF.

Still, I would also like to know how he came up with that.

Im not sure myself. I found it while looking the subject up on another site (heaven forbid and no i am still dedicated to this 1 and vote regularely).
Also jd-inflames, the ideal mf (by this chart) is around 380%.

That is true, diabloii.net has tons of info, but it's severely out dated, some of it pertaining to .08, and a vast majority of it pertaining to .09.

Well, I also heard theres a bug with 199% MF, so what I'm going to do is test this. I'm going to take off my Tals Belt, and Armor, lowering my MF to 181 or so %. I'll MF awhile and see if I get better drops on average then 389% with Tals Stuff on. Then I'll try the 199% thing, because I'm also urious about that.

EDIT: I siwtched my tals belt with arachnid's mesh and my tals armor with Vipermagi, lowering my total MF to 181%. At first, I got rares, some sets, etc. Then I started getting ALOT of uniques. Left and right, they were low level, but in time they got better. unique Blade Barrier, Guilded Shield, Matriarchial Bow, and a unique jewel and a unique Grand Charm were among some of the items I MFed today under that specific chart above. I have to say I'm quite please, however I will try 199% MF tomorrow to see if anything changes. ^^

I am currently trying the 199 Rumor I've heard abut. So far it somewhat sucks, but I need more time to test it. I'll keep you guys updated. ^^

Well, like week ago, I heard about 199% mf having a bug to it, so after I seen this chart, I figured I would see what this bug does and if it's even a bug. And there you have it.

199% MF isn't so good, so what I did was I tried one more %, based on the chart above there, I figure it would give me more uniques if I had 200% exact, and well this is what I got today MFing (about 100 runs.)

Soul Drainer.
2 Lidless Walls (1 Perfect, the other mid%.)
T-Gods.
Snowclash.

Now, that may not seem like much, but to me, that's bank.

I've decided to stay at 200% for awhile. And if it stops working for me, I'll go back to 181%, which I've also had some nice luck with. Happy MFing!
