Ah crap-Protected my own map w/ Guedit and Don't know how to open it..

okay, I protected on of my maps with Guedit. Than later, I decided to add something, but I can't open it because it's protected. How am I suppose to open a map that i protected?

You honestly don't know how much that made me laugh. It's something i'd do, like lock my car but throw the keys in as well. :rolleyes

Couldn't you use GUEdit to re-open it?

I will send you the unprotector if you wish. As long as its for that alone . I dont think this is breaking the rules; its for a good cause.

How about you have him send you the map then you send him back the unprotected version. No need for unesseccary spread of the unprotector.

Dang...When the Guedit thing asked for my Name and my Email Adress, I though that when you open it up in Guedit, it'll ask you what the Name and the Email Adresses of the map maker is. After that, you can modify it. But it dosen't work that way

K fine just as good an idea bolt. Crazy demon i will pm you my email. I wont put it here, because i read spammers harvest email adresses off internet pages. It should be in your box now.

Can't he just use SCU.. its not a hard program to get if thats what you guys are talking about.. so no reason to "keep it private" or whatever.. GUedit protection is openable through SCU...

I'd prefer to keep map unprotectors private, i don't want my maps being altered once i've protected it.

Umm...actually according to me its almost IMPOSSIBLE for you to have done this.
-If you saved it as the same filename, guedit would come with an error.

You would of have to delete the unprotected version. So he did this not guedit ~_~. Just clearin up that fact.

No it isn't hard to find, That is if know how to search for things via internet (and a surprizing number of people can't do this at all). Also if you don't know the offical name it makes it that much harder to find. But if you againsed the use of the unprotector then there is no since just giving it to people or telling them where to find it just because its kinda popular. Think of all the people who ask "where do i find GUedit or SC-Xtra" or wavs for that matter. Anyone who ask this question most likely won't find the unprotector on there own and its just another way of keeping it kinda private.

Just as a note I refuse to link to any sites hosting the unprotector from my site as my way of keeping it as seldomly spread as possable.

Yeah, it should be kept private, if it gets in the hands of n00bs, no tellin wtf could happen.

I infact do have it thx to clokr giving me the unprotectors name(on accident) then i just searched it up on google....dled it...told heimdal & clokr....1 hour later that site didn't have it.

Ive never used it in any bad way, nor would I. Hell ive not even givin it to my best b.net friend. But yeah its pretty easy to find off the net..hell i can think of one site off the top of my head...

So i also refuse to link becuz someone could put this thing up on google and people could come n dl... I also am wondering on how u overwrote your map.

U should have make 2 copies of the map
and SCU shouldnt be talked around here

Yeah, I did save it as a differnt name-I just can't find the orginal one though. No matter though, since I sent to my brother who unprotected and sent it back to me

u cant protect the original
