believe it or not what you guys have written is what i was looking for. I needed to be told that the only way to modify the map in a legit way was to contact the creator. How hard was it. Dont assume the worst of me just because I dare to ask questions!!

To come in and close my innocent thread because some1 i dont even know talks about some unprotectors isnt the way to show me the way out the door. Perhaps ban the person who suggested it??!!

If you think im a hacker of somesort or a map ruiner whatever so be it, but if i dont give you any reasone to think that i want to crack someones code which I clearly didnt than give me the benefit of doubt and explain to me the scenario. This wont help me now but it will enhance ure reputation as a moderator/admin if you do so in the future.

lol...well unprotecting and protecting arent hacking...you dont crack any code with it...all u do is import a new file and it works..all they did was the same thing.....

Unprotecting by using a program that most do is considered illegal by blizzard and the map creator also wouldnt appreiciate it.

You are wrong. they state in their agreement that MODIFICATION OF ANY BLIZZARD MATIERALS (MEANS MAPS TOO) IS AGAINST THEIR AGREEMENT. SO IF ANYTHING the map makers are against the agreement because they modified the blizzard matierals. And by unprotecting a map its not illegal because the map has no copyright lisense and by using a MPQ program such that blizzard used to remove the modification is also not against the agreement.

But you are right about using a program to unprotect such as unproqtor...that is against the agreement ...ANY THIRD PARTY PROGRAM is against it..but so are the map protectors....but if you use a MPQ program to remove the modification then its not a violation because its not exactly a third party program when infact blizzard used the same program

Map-Protectors are good! i use them ,too.

I learned the whole map editor by myself and testing everything... now i can do ALL what the editor can do

I protect my maps cuz i dont want that people steal my things.

Unprtecting suxx.. cuz the mapper made much work with a map and than some guy come here and want to steal things from it (why else should u unprotect it?).

Just let the maps like they are and make own maps ... learn the things urself and when u need to watch some trigger:
-ask me
-open a thread with a question
