Act Four Mercs

I'd, personally, would like to see act four mercenaries. Example? Give them necroish abilities like summoning small amounts of skeletons, or large amounts of weak ones. Or perhaps curses.

dont quite follow the the first part of your post....


but i have thought it would always be a good idea if blizzard beefed these guys up even more. they really need to pump up their HP and attack power/rating.

another good way to improve these guys would be to allow them to use additional TWO HAND weapon classes such as Axes and Mauls.

I think after that if they allow rogues to use Xbows and improve their attack skills you would see alot more diversity in mercenary options.

And the guy who sells them is like named like Lazarus or somethin? Maybe like Damian? The types will be summoning, cursing($@!%lol), and psn and bone^^, all of their skills will be lvl 15-20, depending on lvl, your gc's affect them, they can only use wands preserved heads and those kinds of things, and any helm-.- Here's what i would use=/
Homonculus,that wand arm of leoric, and perf griff's i guess, or andy helm

If mercs were more customizable (more than 1 set of '1337' gear) they would be alot more useful... and if they didnt get owned like nothing in a4 :( anti-maiden aura would be godly

Well they don't need to buff em because they are leet with good gear. My merc used to pwn baal solo.

Act 4 mercs would be really nice. The necro idea would work well with the act, but I would prefer poison, bone, or revive as options for merc varients. Curses would be counter productive for most of the characters out their, who already to curses, or whatever on striking. While we're at it act 2 merc with different auras would be sweet. Get rid of blessed aim, and thorns to be replaced with Concentration and Fanaticism. Both of these auras would benifit almost every character. Act 1 use guided, or multi since act 3 already do elemental damage. Use of full gear would be nice, but most likely overkill.

Additional mercs? Why? Whats the point? Sure, sure, everyone has gotten used to their mercs, and basically everyone knows how to deck 'em out, but why get more? Everyone would learn how to use 'em in a day, if that, and they'd just be a waste of blizzards time. Making a patch just for a new merc? Seriously.

Sure a necro merc would be cool, but there are its down-falls. A summon necro would make the game WAY too easy, same as a curse merc. A bone/psn merc would just get owned without expensive gear. So, why?

nobody said a whole new patch JUST for mercs.

btw, i was thinking ACT 5 mercs, sorry mixed them up >_<. those guys could be alot more use if they were made ultra rugged.

the idea of a summon necro would be a bad one, maybe curse too. it would A. require too much ai to pick a useful curse, and B a summon merc might just be a bit extra when it comes to the lag issue.


anti ironmaiden would be good.....but that could be solved by lowering damaged returned on the mercs. they have done that before in previous patches. they really need to do it now...especiually for ladder where all monsters are improved to "champion" level in terms of reaction and attack.

i kinda agree with mcgorilla,
except for the fact necs are weak, they arent....

but ppl are gonna go with a2 mercs neway

and the anticurse thing will work because if you curse it replaces the previous curse
