i have yet to really experiment with P12 mode on the SCXE but...
i have considered it.
im curious... is P12 accessible (can be given commands) under the
heading of Neutral Players? and if so... i guess if i set
let's say.. .Player 5 to Neutral.. then wahtever commands I give
will effect them together and no less?

i know All Players can alter/modify/command P12 stuff.

yes, no?
anyway to access ONLY P12 and still have other Neutral Players?

=LIFT=

PS- this is a single quick Q that kinda kept getting bigger. hah. :rollie

I don't think Neutral Players works on P12. Your question is quite valid, and yes, there is a way to specifically affect P12.

I have attached a trigger file (you need to unzip it) which includes all P12 conditions and actions. When you need a trigger that involves a P12 condition or action, just load the trigger I've attached (Scenario < Triggers < Load Triggers), and then remove the conditions and actions which you don't need to use. It's just that easy :)

Note that all the spots that say _ for the player are refering to P12. If you change it from _ to something else, you can't change it back, so you'll have to delete the trigger and load another copy of the original.

ummm... wait... if there be players 9 THRU 12.. then...
how can i place stuff just for them???
at least.. you can't place stuff for them using
SCXE... i guess... i use another editor???

i was messing around with the addons... and this is why i
half-way figured out that the AllPlayers does effect player12
but yeah... the Neutrals don't do it. (i assumed the light blue
color units are player 12 - they show up as black in the
editor but are light blue in-game)

I've never found a use for player 9, 10, or 11. The editor is designed to place P12 units only, and when someone leaves during the game, their units go to P12. P9-11 are more novelty than anything else. You shouldn't encounter any problems just using P12 triggers.

well... i kinda answered it when i figured out the AllPlayers work ... but...
so... i guess.. no good for placing units for P9-11. only P12.
right, Lwek?
i wouldn't mind having a total of 4 neutral players.... so i can use them to place
units (which are not at the immediate disposal for the active players to use).
this is why i want to make sure i have no such option.. cuz.. if i did.. i would use it.

As far as I know there's no way to place P9-11 units. You can't even use those triggers to create units for them. You could 'Give Units' to them, and have it happen at the very beginning of the map, so it'd be the same difference as placing them. I've never found a situation where you couldn't manage with just P12 though :p

well... flying things would be more convenient if you could just
assign straight from P9 to P1, P10 to P2, etc....
instead of having to set location, do 4 loc's and then make sure only ones
in each location "given" over... anyways... small convenience/inconveniences.
just some more "indepth" knowledge i guess. (trivia)

You can use players 9-256 actually. StarForge and SCMDraft 2 can place units 1-12(I believe an older version of SCMDraft 2 can place units for Player 13). StarForge can place units for players 1-256.
I haven't done enough testing with all these players, but I did get an uncloaked Dark Templar...

umm... wow... ok... so.. this means..... i should probably explore this path....
as i'm implementing a system where players make some un-piloted unit....
like... say... a wraith... and i want the unit to stay disabled until they stick a
civ into the un-piloted unit.. then... make a piloted unit which is now usable....
this gets kinda confusing when the players have a hard time knowing WHICH
unit belongs to whom - lack of playerfriendliness. so... if i could get access to different players (im assuming they are all slightly different in color) then i can
make it ez for the players to recognize which disabled units belong to whom...
and also... stop players from stealing each others stuff.

so... now.. i guess... time to go learn SCMDtraft or StarForge. heh.
OH BOY! more TRIVIA to learn!

EDIT:
Well... i've been playing around with SF and it's weird... when you
do the property viewing by selecting a unit... it gets stuck on the
last unit you viewed and it will change the selected unit's properties
over to the last unit you viewed - this be a bug.
also... i can't get the comp to create P9-12 units midgame.
(i thought i could create them for P12 earlier but i realized... it
was just cuz i was creating an addon.. not a real unit)
were there any patches for SF before Heimdal stopped?
(i did this edit cuz i ditn' want to doublepost... not sure if
i should even do this edit... just hope people dont go trying
stuff i just found out the hard way)
