A comment regarding item values...

over the few years ive been playing d2, ive noticed a lot of ppl claiming that certain items are worth nothing. ive even seen ppl go as far as saying elite unique items are worth nothing. heres my response to that:

it is technically incorrect to say that anything is worth "nothing", since either someone out there is looking for it, or u can sell it for gold, which is commonly said to be worth "nothing" but proven otherwise by the countless number of pkers who deliberately take the gold of their victims. my conclusion: as long as theres even a slight use or demand for something, it is not worthless.

phew...with that out of my system...any thoughts/flame/arguments?

i agree... i luv how ppl say i dont need gold .. gold is worthless.. its all around... then why is it when i drop only like 400 k gold in a game people go running around for it??? i give people 50 k gold for a ort rune... just cause i find it cheaper then repairing the enigma my self

I agree also. But what i hate about trades and uniqes being called crap is when the mother ****ing prices change:shoot . i swear on it you buy something that is hella expensive at the time then the freakin price goes down to a pul rune. although i have found out you can get very rich by doing nm and or hell rushes for forges.

about the gold thing i dont really have to worry about it because i rarly ever die in duels

I agree with your position too. I find it humerous when peeps say that a Valor is worthless.

IMO- Most of these diablo 'gamers' are probably buying their hig-priced items instead of trading/finding those items themselves.

To each their own, but I feel ALL items have value, it all depends on what level your char is at.

Agreed...granted some players might be able to make their BoTD's HoTo's Enigmas by themselves, or by trading for the runes.

But I'll tell ya with the way curriencies are today, I offered someone my .08 WF for an Ist rune and a 290. The ass said its not worth either. I eventually traded away a WF I got from Wildfire for 2 X 290's and a 7% mf/5% cold resist small charm then the 2 X 290's for Ist then finally able to make my CTA. But its a bitch and I can see that some real gamers would do it. But while I'm at work here in the library I find it amusing to see how much Ebay and sites sell stuff for. And when you see stuff like "out of stock" up on things you know some n00bs are buying shit tons of gear b/c their parents can afford it. Really sad.

gold does have a value,my bot got alot of it and i would trade it for small stuff,charms low lvl runes gems

Well gold really only has 2 purposes:

1) Reserect merc
2)repairs

One of the top reasons people steal gold in pk games is because they know that it pisses people off. Some people think it is funny. But gold doesnt really have a purpose besides the listed things above.

on a few rarer occasions ppl will use gold for gambling...
it burns up cash so fast its probably not worth it unless u really do have that much gold to spare. i once used up 2.4 million gambling and got nothing good.

i hate losers that run around and say that gold is worthless and all u have to do is join a cow game and max out in gold in 10 mintues (which is tru). but then u see the same people in pk games that cry because u stole their gold and blah blah blah

there are items out there, that are pretty much worthless, WORTH is the not the same thing as WANTING. There are items out there, that are just horrible, and yeah, someone might want them, but its not like they will give u anything for it, there are just those items, that when u find em, u identify em and leave em on the ground. if its worth something then u keep it, WORTH means that u can get something for it, but some items out there, that are just COMPLETELY worthless, items that u give away for FREE are worthless - - free = worthless

anyone getting me?
